Makhethe Makamase is a PhD student, an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Political Sciences at the University of Pretoria (UP), and a Researcher at the Centre for Mediation in Africa (UP). She also has experience as a Research Assistant at the Institute for Global Dialogue (IGD) in Pretoria, and at the African Centre for the Study of the United States, UP. She obtained an MA in Security Studies from the University of Pretoria, and a BSocSc (Honours) in Political Science and International Relations from the North West University, South Africa. Her research interests include African Peace and Security issues, Global Governance, Inclusive Economic Development and Diplomacy.
