Training and Services
The CMA offers online and offline courses in mediation.
The Beginners Course in Peace and Mediation is an essential foundation for anyone seeking specialised training in high-level political mediation, community-level mediation, or mediation between businesses and trade unions. Through engaging readings, materials, and exercises, this course will stimulate your thinking around key concepts in mediation and provide practical activities that can be applied to mediation practices. The course is divided into eight units that cover a range of topics, from understanding the core concepts related to peace and violence to developing a nuanced understanding of mediation and conflict transformation. Each unit includes practical tasks and exercises that must be completed to reinforce learning. The course follows a delegate-centred learning model, where delegates are at the centre of their learning process. The online curriculum supports and facilitates learning, but delegates are the drivers of the learning process.
The Mediation and Skills Development Training provides participants with essential mediation skills aimed at fostering peace and resolving conflicts. Trainees will practice and learn the basics of mediation, dialogue facilitation, and conflict analysis, culminating in a certificate of participation. The course changes how individuals interact and relate, promoting a community of understanding and respect. Suitable for anyone interested in or experienced in mediation, the course includes lectures, role-plays, and assessments across four days, focusing sequentially on mediation basics, advanced skills, negotiation, and practical application.
