Dialogue: Human Security and Community Resilience in the Face of Growing Instability in Northern Mozambique

The Centre for Mediation in Africa (CMA), in partnership with Platform Decide, hosted a hybrid dialogue titled “Human Security and Community Resilience in the Face of Growing Instability in Northern Mozambique” on 4 February 2026 at the Future Africa Campus, University of Pretoria, with additional participants joining virtually.

The event convened policymakers, researchers, and practitioners to examine the evolving conflict dynamics in Cabo Delgado and their broader regional implications. The dialogue emerged within a context of escalating insecurity in northern Mozambique, characterised by insurgent expansion, large-scale displacement, deepening state-society disconnect, and growing humanitarian and governance challenges.
